I'm taking delivery on a new 260 Sundancer in the next few weeks. I can't believe that there is no dedicated storage for the v berth table or filler cushions. As well there is minimal storage for fenders and lines.
While the admiral is very excited about the cockpit layout compared to present 2011 260 Sundancer, I guess I will have to get used to keeping less on the boat and using aft cabin space for storage of larger items(table and filler cushions).

I can't comment on the space issue, but your question raises one for me. What is the purpose of upgrading from a 4 year old 260 to a brand new one, especially if you guys have some "issues" with the new model?

the 2011 had some factory defects with the hull and Sea Ray is participating in the exchange.

Store the table in the head. You can buy brackets for mounting it there. Get bow rail fender holders for those.

Ah that makes sense, I was unaware. I agree with Dave's suggestion. I had all sorts of crap in the bilge on my 260. There was more room than I knew what to do with down there.

Indeep -
I've got a 2011 and would love to hear more about this
I've not been made aware of any defects in the hull -yet !

I also would like to hear about the defects. I love my 2011 260 but have had a concern over blisters the last two years. The dealer and searay have fixed them each year, but I am concern that they are coming back in the same spots.

Indeep, do you keep your boat on lake Hopatcong? I used to live right near Hackettstown and did quite a bit of boating there.

Yes we keep it in Lake Hopatcong. There was a factory repair that was made before we got the boat. And the gel coat in that area delaminated. As well as multiple blisters after just 2 seasons in the water. Local body shops in the area that Marinemax called didn't want to do the repair because they had no idea what was causing the delamination. Finally Marinemax sent it to another one of their locations for the repair and it came out great. Sea Ray couldn't guarantee that wouldn't happen again so the assisted in trading me out.

And leaving the next potential owner in the same defective boat which you traded away. Good for your issue, but not resolved for the next person. Bummer.

Seems like I read something about this same thing on another post........

But that guy was a dumb _ _ _ because he didn't accept the free exchange, and not want to pass the buck to someone down the line, wondering why his boat was messed up. AND, he doesn't have any recourse because they bought it used........from Sea Ray. Hmmmmmmm.............

Aren't the second and third posts referenced here assuming Sea Ray would not disclose to potential buyers of the 2011 vessel that there was previous hull damage that had been repaired but was not warranted?

It seems to me that would be a lawsuit, big liability, and a risk of damage to a good reputation if Sea Ray were to sell it undisclosed. The 2011 vessel is not worth that much from a business perspective.

What's that saying about a fool and his money? I'm glad Indeep isn't that fool and is letting SeaRay work with them. Good job Indeep and good job SeaRay. All about working together to solve a problem. No ones perfect all the time.

Haha, you guys have your heads up Sea Rays ass. haha The funny thing is, if it happened to you y'all would be crying like little babies.

Like I said before. If you are all about "your needs" and don't care about anyone else or who takes the next screwing, you are not my kind of people. Trust me, you wouldn't be in my circle of friends period.

Mike, I guess YOUR assuming Sea Ray would disclose the damage.

Hear this, Sea Ray didn't disclose any of the hidden damage that was on my boat. I guess they just didn't care about the laws.

I tried to make a point. I won't get into a pissing match again. I won't respond to this again. I just though it was funny this guy is going thru the same crap! haha

Come on Mike, life is not your way or the highway.

You clearly are bitter about your perception of what happend with your boat. I've read your previous posts and haven't seen where any laws were broken. If they were you should have procecuted or let it go. Boats are a human hand built item, there will be mistakes that are repaired on all levels of vessels.

I have every confidence that SR. would disclose the condition of a used boat as there is too much at risk for them if for no other reason. Their actions with a significant number of members here is evidence of their approach in these matters.

Any bitterness in my life comes from hops in my craft beer...

i have to agree , on my 240 you also have to use the aft cabin for storage of e.g the canvas ans usual size tenders do not fit into the aft locker ( where the shorepower cable sits ) .

but i think on any boat that size you somewhere have limited storage space , and using the boat with two people the aft cabin is a great space to keep all that gear.

the major disadvantage is the poor handling on plane where every ride is a careful balancing to not allow her lay over hard on the side. is that fixed on a 2015 260 ?
