2007 44DB. The poop tank level always shows 1/2. I figure it’s a sends issue. Not looking forward to that one. The water level appears to always show full, unless I don’t know how to read it. Probably have a little over 1/2 tank right now. I will try to upload a pic of the indicator. Is the sender shot or am I not reading the colors right?

You are reading both correctly. I have the same issue with my waste tank float, always shows 1/2 full. Fortunately my water tank reads accurately and shows the same way yours does when full.

I do believe we have to pull out the wast tank probe to see if the floats are gunked up and can be cleaned or need to just replace.

Are you guy's familiar with Carters poopy powder, aka noflex? From what I understand, if used properly with no other chemical contamination works wonders.

problem is that my water tank isn't full. Probably about half full. I’m wondering if there is a bad ground or a sender issue. The poop tank doesn’t bother me as much as the fresh water. We don’t anchor out much so I fill and pump out every chance I get. I have been adding noflex to the poop tank. We just bought the boat and the P.O. didn’t use it for a year due to illnesss.

This item is highly recommended by Frank Webster.

Amazon.com: Camco Tornado Rotary Tank Rinser Features a 6-foot Hose, 360-degree Rotating Head and High-Pressure Nozzles (40126) : Automotive

I've got a couple, but have not had the time to install yet.

Hope they will keep the tank AND the senders clean.

BEST !

I used this on the RV and it worked great, but the RV has a straight drop from the toilet into the tank. I wonder if you can snake it through the pump out fitting .

These are designed to be mounted to a hole you create in the top of your tank. My motorhome came with them, I bought them for the boat and installed them...

Id have to remove the tank to cut a hole, unless I can fit a right angle drill in there.

The direction show it mounted 2” down in the side of the tank. That’s a lot more doable. The one I used on the RV just dropped down the toilet into the tank. No permanent mount in the tank.

If the system has been neglected and/or unused it may take quite a while of diligent noflex usage to "right the ship"

that’s what I’m thinking. I’m nofleximg every day, twice on Sunday. I’m not a fan of these vacuflush toilets. Too many moving parts. Might replace them with Raritan Elegance and new plumbing this winter. If I go that far, I’ll pull the tank and make it right.

Don't over flex it, that much I do know. Oh, and like anything else on a boat, use it. Nofelx or the like needs food, but not much. After the system is stabilized, it's a pretty good system

Been using the VACCUFLUSH in two different boats, total 23 years.

Properly maintained, I would not have ANYTHING else.

The results of a tune up of the soft parts will likely change your mind.

They seem to be working fine. Just lots of hose and lots of points of potential failure. Toilet to tank seems much simpler. On this boat I think they built the boat around the VG’s with little regard to future service requirements. I worry about sewage getting hung up in the VG’s and causing odor problems. Just seems unnecessarily over complicated. My last few boats have all had electric macerating toilets.

Gotta get rid of all of the 'crusties' first. Some times the replacement of the soft parts will be needed to accomplish this but they will be scarred through the journey of disembarking the "crusties".
Hence, near future replacement should be planned for.
Again, once stabilized, I think it's a great system.

crusties? Can you elaborate? Damn near need to cur a hole in the side of the boat to get to the VG’s. They couldn’t be in a mor inconvenient location, especially the port. Had to use an endoscope just to inspect it.

I switched over to Noflex last summer. Holding tank light started working correctly within a couple of months. I put a scoop in each day on the boat, no more than that.

The holding tank monitor should show "Empty" in green after you completely empty the tank, so the senders are likely stuck. Using No Flex might get them unstuck, but when I bought my boat I had to pull the senders as there was growth on the senders. They are a PITA to get to but pulling the senders will allow you to quickly diagnose and fix. Just get some gloves and rinse the tank a few times, then pull the sender. I believe it is in a 4" screw in cap. Really not a terrible job.

The water tank might be just fine, as the senders are a fixed distance and the tank is likely not square. In my boat it shows Full until its about 3/4 empty, then the rest come on very quickly. I would empty the tank and see what reading you get before doing anything else. The usual suspect in the water gauge are the resistors/capacitors in the gauge. Easily rebuilt.

Heres some background

Both the original water and holding tanks and senders were removed from my 86 390EC before I bought the boat the boat. I installed outside the tank monitors made by "Snake River" and they have been trouble free for 13 years. No inside the tank BS to deal with. They may not work on metal tanks however as both mine are poly.
