Seeing more ads out there for polyethelyne dock boxes vs traditional fiberglass. Anyone out there have the poly boxes? What do you think? I'd like to go with the Poly as it seems more durable and less expensive.

I'm in Fiberglass business. Go Poly. Less prone to failure. Only down side is when people use it as a seat it will sag inwards but, will snap back. We even have two at home for pool supplies.

Just bought a rubbermaid box from home depot & 100 will see how it works a dock neighbor is going on three years with one and no problems

I just got the Rubbermaid box also. The only reservation I have with it is that it just snaps together and I think that with a good kick with a steel tip work boot it may disassemble. I'm going to get a tube of silicone adhesive and fill in the seams. It should add with making it watertight and strengthen it greatly.

:grin:I have owned my Rubbermaid for 3 years with no problem. I siliconed the seams, and screw it to the dock for the season....They blow away in a good wind! Can't beat the square footage for the money. Now if they only made them in white. I also have a small fiberglass box, but not much fits in it.
