Hi,
I need to replace the OEM speakers this coming Spring. The originals are a mix of Polk Momo MMC650, MMC6500 & a 10" subwoofer.
The OEM manual for the tweeters with the MMC 6500 set directs the installer to drill a 2-3/16" hole.
Anything new I can find new is calling for a 2" hole. The difference will create a gap allowing water entry. This will be a critical concern with the tweeter mounted on the helm.

Anyone with experience replacing their own Polk Momo set able to share how they addressed this issue.
Is it possible the new tweeters have cups/nests large enough to cover the 2-3/16" opening ?

Thank You for any help you can offer.

Not a lot a marine component options out there these days. Past models the tweeter had a flange and some even had an extra trim ring that increased the mounting flange. The difference between a 2" hole and 2.1875" is .093" R. Thats not much of a gap to bridge with even the smallest of a flange. If needed, fabricate a trim ring using .125" HDPE.

Yes, considering that option too. Looking for the easy way out first.
I was able land a NOS set of the MMC650 coaxial set. Looking for the same in the MMC6500 but they seem to be made of unobtanium.

Thanks for the help.
