Politicians = Crook

You asked for my suggestions, no comment on any of them?

As for "the media has obviously done their job in trying to paint the occupiers as a bunch of low life misfits" do you really believe this garbage. Who has done that? Show me the articles. ONLY Fox and the conservative bloggers published the truth about these losers. MM

Look MM, please do NOT post FACTS!!

I couldn't have said it better myself Ricky!!:smt038:thumbsup:

What can be said about someone that agrees with a post that was clearly debunked.

Do most of you agree that big money and corporations have a stranglehold right now on our elected leaders and we the people no longer have any voice on what goes on in Washington? Left, Right or whatever your political leanings, it has to be obvious the system is horribly broken and needs to be fixed real quick or we're all in a heap of trouble.

Ricky,
That is at the heart of my anger. These guys will continue to run on their merry ways lining their pockets at the expense of us citizens. I don't really see ANYTHING that will deter them or make them change the course that has been set, aside from something dramatic. I am not satisfied with someone slithering out of office after being exposed and after amassing their fortunes while on our time. That is a shallow victory. They should all be unceremoniously dumped and replaced with normal citizens that are not vested in the system as it currently stands.
The problem ,which this thread is a microcosm of, is finding regular Joe's that can agree on principles that would be most beneficial to the masses. This is obviously not as easy as I thought it could be as evidenced by the give and take on this thread.

Todd, Step back from the edge just a little bit. We do still live in the greatest country on the planet, with the best government ever conceived by mankind. No matter how bad the ruling class acts we still have it great for now. What we must watch is the future and implement the steps I outlined earlier. We must shrink their power. MM

Mike,
I love our country, I just can't stand hearing all of this blather of how the politicians once again have voted for something so inherently wrong on the surface in the name of individual greed. Good people are hurting around our great nation while these thieves do things that , on the surface, are unethical and immoral. They get richer by proccesses that the average citizen would probably get locked up for by the SEC. I am really fed up with these clowns and feel powerless to make any significant changes. I fear that even the recently voted in Libertarians will either succomb to the masses or be swallowed up by the political machine in Washington. Despair has set in for mine and my childrens future.

So I see the list of their demands but what are their solutions? How do they plan to achieve these lofty goals? I can wish for 70 virgins to do my bidding till the cows come home but, according to that faith, until I die a martyrs death for Islam it aint gonna happen now is it .
I can climb a clock tower and reduce the population of a city but what does it accomplish?

I'm butt tired of folks pounding on their chest about all the injustice in the world then sitting on their hands when asked for a solution. Here's an FYI, if you can contribute to the solution then shut up or support someone that can.

Why do cities need to negotiate for people to leave an area when they are openly defying the law? Bring in the guard and lock every one of the law breakers up. My compassion stops where their stupidity starts. Tie up a port or restrict free trade then go to jail. I guess no one cares about the poor schmuck working the dock for a living or the truck driver that supporting a family that misses work because of these law breakers. They must be in the upper 1% that everyone is touting.

Everyone is asking for input for a solution so here's mine. Know your elected officials. I don't mean just their names but who they are, where they worship, what's their wife and children’s names. What's their principles aside from their party line? Make them accountable for their actions. My rep is a democrat, I'm not. He knows where I stand and if I don't vote for him or do he knows why. We are friends BTW but that does not jade my principles or his.
It's just the first steps but at least I'm in the game. Are you?

BTW it's IMHO. (The catch all that makes everything right)

Folks, I wish to apologize for the Kent State comment. The late hour and reading the thread from front to back got the best of me. Sorry if I offended anyone. That was a sad day for our country. I have deleted it from the post.

Too much time listening to the Republican smear/scare tactics?????

I backed my ascertains you clearly have not. Post some links showing that the big dogs of the media were "trying to paint the occupiers as a bunch of low life misfits" in articles written and dated in September during the first two weeks.

You won't get anything out of that guy. If you go back and read lance's posts, you can see the guy is bitter about something... None of these guys can show that taking money from successful people and giving it to the government creates a job... It doesn't even put a dent in the debt problem. They want to do it because of bitterness and envy and the politicians are playing off of that... They have reached a later stage in life and are getting all pissed off because someone did better than them. Taking it away gives them some sort of comfort because they can say "SEE! They didn't deserve it!" So anyone that goes and plunks down $1.4M for a new big Sea Ray is a crook or bad person in their eyes.

What these people don't get is that working 9-5 for someone else will rarely (never) allow you go get a $1.4M Sea Ray... but who cares? However, if you want that sort of thing, you have to step out of "the norm" and that typically means taking an abnormal amount of risk (i.e. most people would never do it) and starting a company or business and growing it or working your way up a corporate ladder and becoming an executive. That's what "success" means in America. No one is holding ANYONE back from doing that. But some people now find it "bad" if those people become successful and call them crooks. It's very sad...

Look at the whole thing with the "Corporate Jet Tax Loophole" that Obama and the other left wing nut jobs were telling the people. I'm sure Mr. Lance thinks there should be no corporate jets because that is some sort of perk... So let's shut down that industry because it's not fair. Next we'll take away backhoes from construction workers and give them shovels as you'll need more people with shovels to dig holes and that creates jobs... that's their un-educated way of thinking.

Well made points. I will likely will never have a $1.4 million Sea Ray but I am quite comfortable in my own skin and with what I've accomplished in my life and amalso happy to enjoy your success. I refuse to spend a minute worrying about what someone else has. I do not understand how seemingly educated people cannot see this. Walter Williams has a great colum on this very topic this week. MM

"Class warfare thrives on ignorance about the sources of income. Listening to some of the talk about income differences, one would think that there's a pile of money meant to be shared equally among Americans. Rich people got to the pile first and greedily took an unfair share. Justice requires that they "give back." Or, some people talk about unequal income distribution as if there were a dealer of dollars. The reason some people have millions or billions of dollars while others have very few is the dollar dealer is a racist, sexist, a multinationalist or just plain mean. Economic justice requires a re-dealing of the dollars, income redistribution or spreading the wealth, where the ill-gotten gains of the few are returned to their rightful owners."

I'm not running out a plunking down $1.4M on a new boat either... I was just trying to make a point there are ways of getting there and if people do it, we should congratulate them if that's what they want. Right now, I just want to live in a 2000 sq ft house, 1 car, 1 truck and my boat on a dock in deep water in my back yard....

and good story/quote.

All I want is a garage and a tree for my dog to pee on.

In this economy, it is my belief that "he who has the best customer service...WINS"!! And we here at "Donnie Myers RV Service Gun And Pawn and Motorcycle and Golf Cart Repair and Diesel Truck Customization and Redneck Removal are here for all your needs! "And that's all I gotta say about that".....

I agree with you other than the Lance nickname. I believe if you want it, you can get it... Lance thinks if you haven't got it, then someone screwed you over.

I apologize, no offense intended. I just find it comical to read all these posts. I am 43 and I "want it"....real bad! I grew up too early and it's taken me a while to "settle" down and chase it! Now...I'm "on it"! I would love to see how people like Lance would do on their own without the protection of the "unions" It would be interesting with a level playing field! It's ok, I don't mind a lopsided field, I will still win....lol

I am 49 and just started a new company this year... never too late to build a company... have a few employees now... and if anyone came to me about a union, they'd be removed from the office.

Lance, I can only go off your posts on how you look at things. Why don't you "give me an idea".
