I have heard of kits containing a type of plug that you can stuff in a leaking hole in an emergency.

Anyone have any experience needing to do this?
Where do you store your plugs?
Anyone have any products or kits that they recommend buying?

Thanks!

I have a 'spares' bin I have in the engine bay. I keep my tapered wood plugs in there.

Don't laugh at this one, But have a few tampons with ya also.

Todd, I think you should really clean up that bilge before taking pictures!

The tape Boat Guy might be thinking of is Rescue Tape. It sticks to itself very well, is flexible and does a good job of sealing off leaks.

I have four tubs of that Stay Afloat on my boat. I keep them near every thru hull so if something goes TU I'll have one right nearby and don't have to search for it.

Truplug looks interesting....

Is there a tape that will hold water pressure and stay waterproof? Seems like that might be the way to go instead of cutting that hose.

Toilet bowl ring is a good thing to have and only a couple bucks at Home Depot. I had a leak once on my shaft seal and our diver sealed it up for the ride to the yard with a toilet bowl ring, which work as well underwater as they would in the dry.

With the Toilet bowl ring wax, does it melt when storing in hot environments?

Yeah I suppose it would, but I wouldn't know, it never gets hot enough here for that to be an issue, our water in Los Angeles rarely gets over 70 and I find my cabin and bilge never get warm surrounded as they are by cool water.
