Boat Info
2007 sea ray sundeck 260
Engines
6.2liter merc b3
So after I turn off my 2007 sundeck 260, I push the trim button up until I hear the trim stop. I do this so as I am high dry.....obviously want engine trimmed up all the way. Well, today I saw my boat out of water. Trim was up as high as it would go....but not at tailor trim. Guy at marina told me there is a different maneuver to get engine at tailor trim height. How do I do this? I hud see the one rocker trim lever on side of my throttle. Help appreciated.

Jeff,
Your tilt/trim button on the throttle handle on that model year should be a three positon switch. Down is of course down, however up is two stages. A normal press of the button moves it up in the "operating range", the range you can safely trim the drive while the engine is running. Pressing harder on the up button, you should feel a second click which activates the trailer stage of the tilt and trim switch, you should only trim the drive in this range while the engine is off, or it could result in damage to your driveshaft and universal joint assembly.

Ditto:thumbsup:

When the boat is being stored on a trailer or otherwise, the outdrive should be trimmed full down to relieve stress on the boots.
