Close to where I live is Oshkosh Truck.

Plenty of the boaters in my area work at Oshkosh Truck.

They came up with a mine resistant vehicle and recently the government has been buying them to help protect our troops from IED’s.

See this video:

The attached video is pretty cool. The actual blast has been edited out.

In brief, a few of our boys will be calling home with a amazing story instead of these same familes getting a knock on the front door by a officer bringing regrettable news.

I’m proud of the work these people are doing.

There is some amazing videos on YouTube of that vehicle in action. Very impressive!

Our soldiers deserve the best we can offer!

When my son was in Kandahar he saw one that got hit like they were saying the guy in the turret is the only one that gets shaken up but at least he gets to fight another day, at $1,mil each well worth it. International also makes a truck like that. here is a pic he took of one. The hitch on the front is for a roller that sticks way out they use it to find IED's:wow:

Very cool. I agree that ANYTHING we can buy/make to help our troops be safer is money well spent. Thanks for the post and thanks to Oshkosh!

I ‘m proud to have lived for many years in Wisconsin before moving south. I think about the great companies that are there, P&H, Manitowoc Cranes, and of coarse Oshkosh. Hard working folks making great products. No wonder one of the finest military vehicles in the world is made there. It’s ugly, it’s tan, and it saves lives, got to love it.

Since were on the subject, check out a little project my company supplies the chassis for. This chassis is my area of responsibility for North America at work. It’s used in many application other than a big gun platform.
