Hello everyone,

We are going to ocean city this summer and i am looking to know a little bit more about this trip.

I will be departing from haverstraw Ny, hudson river, and crusing at 22-23 knots.

I figured it will take me about 6 and 1/2 hours and we want to make a stop half way for lunch and fuel.

i am thinking to stop at barnegat NJ. Any suggestion ? marina, gas dock, markers ?

Thank you very much for your help!!!

Marina. The nicest in OCNJ is the Seaview Harbor marina. They generally don't do transients however. Other options is Harbor Cove in Somers Point NJ. PM me about Seaview Harbor marina - might be able to work something out with you as there are a couple of weekends we won't be in our slip, or at least might be able to talk to the dockmaster on your behalf...?

The inlet north of OC is clearly marked - stay away from the breakers on the port side as you enter. Have fun at America's Greatest Family Resort and NJ's #1 Beach...

Sounds like a fun trip.

If you got extra couple minutes here’s the trip we just did from LI to NJ delivering my friend’s boat http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16358&page=5

I’m not sure where exactly you were planning to have a day stop, but you’ve got two options: Manasquan Inlet to Brielle area or Barnegat Inlet toward Beach Haven area. I would choose Brielle. As soon as you enter MI you’re in the area full of restaurants (there’s a number of good ones), which are very easy to access. There’re also fuel, water and pump-out services. Then, when you’re done it’s a quick way out back in the ocean. Everything is very easy to navigate. There's only one spot to watch out, which is the railraod bridge. It stays open until train comes. Just take your time going through it, b/c plenty of idiots have no respect and will get close to you, it's norrow. I usually pick the time when I'm the only boat passing, this way there's no problem.

If you choose BI there will be longer run south on ICW before you get to an area with restaurants. However, there’s couple of marinas right near the CG station, but I’m not sure if they have any place to eat. Also, BI is a bit tricky, you need to follow pretty well marked, but zigzagging channel. So, as I mentioned, if you don’t get any info on good spot right near the BI, then I would pick MI, it would be just much easier for you.

Good luck,
Alex.

Let me know when you're coming. Our slip is in the Manasquan Inlet - first set of slips when you come in next to Brielle Anchorage. There's some empty one's right now in this economy, I can get our dockmaster to find you something to come in to. The restaurant we're connected to is the River House and you don't have to deal with the railroad bridge to come in and out.
