I had removed my switch box to replace a suspect white/black jumper wire between the inner and outer boxes. When I replaced the boxes, I pinched the violet wire from trigger to the inner switchbox between the two boxes. While I have small enough heat shrink connectors to splice it if needed, it does not appear the current insulation was damaged. However, the pinch is obvious. The slack is nearly nonexistent, so cutting & splicing and reconnecting would worsen that situation.

any thoughts on this? Should I just try to test continuity and if same as white/violet its' fine? Should I snip and splice regardless? Beating the crap out of myself over this. Brand new CDI trigger.

I would need to see an actual picture of the pinched wire to help make that decision.

I'm going to have to take one next time I'm out later this week. I did the damage, got mad at myself and flustered. Decided the best course of action was to just pack up go before I made things worse. Should have thought about a picture before I posted so general of a question.

Continuity would only tell you if it's completely cut, not if if it's only partially cut. And, it "could" be completely cut but the cut ends could still be making contact with each other which would show good continuity.

If you didn't cut the vinyl, it's very unlikely you cut the wire. If it functions, I wouldn't bother - you can play around with the crimp area a few times and see if that causes a failure to double check.
