I didn't install this but ran across some pictures of this unit which might be helpful to others in the future, for example, in showing that there are indeed 2 spark plugs. Usually this genset is placed in such a position that it is very hard to get a picture of it from more than the front side.

This is what a fouled plug looks like on the 5E (after being 'inspected' by one of the pups strolling down the dock)... My generator had 25 hours on it and was not running right when under a load. It would sputter and shut off under a load. Also didn't start as easy as it should. If your plug looks like this, regardless of hours, changing them would be a good idea.

I changed the plugs and run problem resolved.

This generator fouls plugs and they need to be changed every year. I would recommend that you do it AFTER spring commissioning as the initial start-up will put a nice black film on the plug from the fogging oil. I bought my plugs from Lowes, there's another post on interchangeability.

The other thing to look for is a large, oily black streak under the gen exhaust outlet after running the genset. The black gook that will be on the boat will also be on the plug.
