Morpheus - My last boat had a 5.0 L. The 496 has a ton more power. Even in this heavy of a boat you can feel the power. I will get a beter feel here soon. The only time I have had it in the water was when I picked it up. The 260 is the same length as the 240. The difference is in the height. I am not sure if the exact height difference but if you set them side by side you can see it. The 260 is a lot deeper than the 240.

Ahh ok, that explains it then it does look deeper from the outside pictures but length wize I thought it looked the same. From the inside it's hard to tell by the pictures but I guess in the bow you sit deeper I would imagine.

Ok I'm not engine guru but what does the 496 put out as far as HP, and is the 260 really that much heavier then a 240?

The 260 is about 300 or 400 lbs heavier. The bow is much deeper than the 240. The 496 is a big block engine. The 496 puts out 375 hp. They also make a 496HO that is rated at 425 HP. The 5.0 L MPI is a 260 HP small block. The whole reason we didn't buy the 240 was the issue in the bow.

Beautiful boat. I love the clean look of a solid white hull, and really makes the lines of the boat speak for themselves... Awesome engine package!!

Nice! I got my first SeaRay on 4/5/08 and had it on the water in 2 hrs. Nuthins betta.
