Anyone replaced their pickup tube? I was wondering how likely it is for the fitting to break? I was considering changing mine in my 2000 Sundeck 210 due to having vapor lock type symptoms over the past couple of years. We didn’t have the issues as bad this past summer as the one before, I believe because we only used ethanol free fuel, but I was considering changing it anyway because it can take a little effort to start it sometimes after it’s ran then sat for a little while swimming.

It is certainly easy enough to access and inspect.
describe the symptoms you are having? Is hot restart and issue? if so does opening the throttle help? Do you get black smoke when it finally starts? Wonder if injectors are leaking down and flooding it when off.

also might check inside of fuel hoses for degradation. Boat is getting to the age it may need hoses replaced. Alsi not sure if your has a fuel shutoff valve installed by sea ray ? Mine takes power by jumper ing into the engine harness where fuel pump plugs in. Wonder if it is not opening , i belive you can manually open it by a lever on valve to bypass .
what does the contents of your fuel filter look like

My fuel water separator is always clean when I change it. I do that every spring when I change the oil and oil filter. It is hot start symptoms. Most of the time, I don’t have any issues if I give it some throttle when I restart after sitting for a while, but I did raise the hood a lot this past summer and not really test it much. I plan to use it more normal, but give it some throttle when I start when we get back in the lake. I added the mercruiser check valve to try and prevent hot water from the block from flowing back through the fuel cooler and wrapped a couple of short sections of fuel hose with heat resistant tape where they run close to the block from the throttle body. I did get some smoke after first starting it after sitting last summer, but it goes away quickly. I have not seen a fuel shutoff valve and don’t think mine has one. I’ve posted the hot start symptoms before and have had the pickup tube mentioned and talked to a marine mechanic and he said he would change the pickup tube and suggested the vapor lock type symptoms that suddenly show up are probably caused by it sucking air and not vapor lock. With the measures I have taken, I’m thinking next step is possibly to change the pickup tube and run it, then if I continue to have problems, consider adding the booster pump kit, but trying to avoid that if possible. We had a bad summer of hot start issues summer before last, I believe because I put some ethanol fuel in it. Before then, I didn’t have the issues and last summer I didn’t have much issue, but I did raise the hatch some as mentioned to let the heat out for several minutes. I didn’t really chance it much.

yours is EFI not MPI correct? If it is efi with a throttle body look down the bores after it sits. Wonder if you see fuel dribble that floods it necessitating clearing with an open throttle? If that is the case get injectors rebuilt.
could be pulling air. If that were the case injectors would not be spraying fuel consistently on restart should be able to see this .

if it’s mpi you need to remove the fuel rails to see It but can be done
