I was finally able to sell my 1991 sea ray boat, and finally go get the 1999 i have been eyeing. :D

I was able to get $4600 out of my 1991, and pick up the 1999 for $4500, so i must say that was a great deal!

it is a 18ft ski boat, with the mercuiser 3.0l and alpha 1 outdrive.

Had to do some minor stuff on it, like fix the sun deck hinge, and replace the tail lights on the trailer, and chase down a broken wire in ithe trailer. but for the most part, it is in perfect shape! has about 200 hours on it.

on to the pics!

Looks good, congrats. Couple thoughts. It looks like you have the original Clarion speakers. They will continue to 'work' with the most extraordinary amount of damage to the cones. You might pop the covers off and take a look at them. If the cones have rotted out, replacing the speakers (even with cheap ones) will make a big difference in the sound quality.

SInce you are going to be replacing lights and have a bad wire, get a light kit with a new harness. Its real easy to replace the harness and will take you less time than chasing down a short in the existing one. I'd personally go with LED lights, but whatever floats your boat.

i replaced the tails with identical hardware for now. They are only $6.99 each and will get me back on the road until i can afford the full LED setup.

The broke wire was luckily and easy fix. I narrowed it down to the tongue area by using a 12v power supply and trying the connectors at the Y of the trailer frame. I pulled the grommet out where the pigtail enters the tongue and it was right there. it seems it has been "repaired" before because another wire was taped up. I will probably rewire the entire trailer when i change to LED. I would like to put on a 7pin plug so i dont have to mess with the adapter.

By looking at the interior, im thinking the speakers are going to be ok, but i will be sure to check them!, the radio is a basic car radio and needs to be replaced eventually

Thanks for the tips!
