Somehow, my wife and I managed to survive a month long cruise in a 270da. We put in at Clayton, NY and then went to Gananoque, ON, up the Rideau to Merrickville and back to Clayton.

Below are a few pictures and a link to our slideshow:

Great photos and it looked like you had a wonderful cruise. What a great place to be able to go boating. Thanks for sharing your journey with us.

Very nice Jerry! Clayton will be our trip for next year for sure. Not sure we can go the distance you did due too fewer days off but we'll make the best of it, Mike.

Thanks, Mike. Clayton is a quiet little village, but, very boater friendly. You will enjoy the Antique Boat Museum. We liked Bella's was ok for lunch and outstanding for dinner. Get a table out on the deck and watch the boat traffic and sunset - very pleasant! There a ton of place to explore in the 1000 Islands. The water is crystal clear. We really liked it. I would really like to leave my boat there for use in the summer. However, that would mean that I would have to buy a second boat. Not so hot about that idea.

Jerry, Fantastic photos. Thanks for posting. It is great to see new places. You did a grat job putting that together.

That looked like an amazing trip! How many nights actually spent on the boat and how many nautical miles covered? I'd love to do a trip like that some day.

Great photos mate and cleary a great trip. I admire your ability to take to the water in a 270 for a month. I was considering an inshore coastal journey myself but I'm not sure we could live on the boat for more than about a week. How did the batteries last or do you have a generator?

Terry

Thanks for the compliments. We did stay on the boat every night for a month. We probably had electricity about 1/2 of the time, but, not a problem since we do have a generator. Total miles covered was about 250 miles. In the past we have done more miles, but, not stopped in any one place very long. On this trip, we would stop and stay at this or that place for several days at a time. The main issues are finding food, ice and water. We had to do laundry a couple of times. The best part is being able to meet a lot of people from different places.

They are a big 270 Lord Farringdon.....250 by today's standards. I would need a 300 to be happy these days, Mike.

Great pics. Hope you enjoyed "Our home and native land". Thanks for sharing!
