Curious to know if anyone has installed a phone mount on dash and if so what type? Photos welcome. Install insight welcome. I'm thinking of installing just to the left of steering wheel so I have easy access to charging port in pocket on left side of dash/helm area. Thanks. I have a 2017 SDX 270. Thank you.

I use Ram Mount gear. High quality, works well. They have options for permanent mounts as well as suction. I use a suction cell phone mount on my dinghy for longer trips...

Ram Mount is the ONLY reasonable option. Options for most every application.

I use this style. Works really well, however not to be used when you’re being piss-pounded tho. I have these in my cars and boats.

These phones don’t take to sitting in direct summer sun very well. Unless your canvas is always up I wouldn’t bother.
I've read that. My phone mount is in the center of my dash, under the windshield, and in total sun. I use it there because it has VesselView on it and I use it all the time I'm running.

(When we anchor I put the phone in the glove compartment. I realize I must be stoopid because I don't play games or access farcebook when I'm not otherwise occupied (or EVER).

Regardless, I have never had a phone give me problems unless it an out of juice.

i saw this concept at a boat show quite a few years ago and played with it a bit. The magnet was super strong and it seemed to work very well. It was very expensive at the time and i see there are many knock offs out now for much less, i doubt they are of the same quality. If your dash allows a mount that is relatively flat it could be an option.

You might not want this one too close to your autopilot :)

I was working on the boat this weekend and thought of this thread, so I snapped a couple of pictures. This is what I use. I stick it on in the spring and take it off in the fall. It has never come off on its own. The only minor inconvenience is that you have to be careful putting the phone in the spring-loaded holders. The springs are so strong that they can press one of the side buttons on the phone if not installed in the right place. Other than that, it is great.
