PETA losing credibility

I'm with Scott. They can't lose what they never had.

And animals are OK, but I prefer broiled new potatoes garnished with rosemary, and asparagus to accompany them.

Oh and by the way, animals do not have any rights. They are property.

Best regards,
Frank

They never had any credibility - and a freakin' fly???

Now - if we're talking about the People for the Eating of Tasty Animals - then I'm all about it!!

J'concur. Exactly what "rights" do animals possess and from what exactly do these "rights" derive?

"Animal rights" is a belief system not a moral standard. People are certainly entitled to that belief, can treat their animals accordingly and ask nicely that others consider their beliefs...sort of like Hari Krishna (formerly) panhandling at airports. However, given that the entire idea is intellectually absurd, why would you think someone directing that particular congregation would be stable?

If the Good Lord didn't want us eating animals He wouldn't have made them SO tasty!

PETA, like any other media whore, depends upon getting press. Which says there's no such thing as 'bad' press. There's always going to be a large enough audience to ignore rational thought. Just look at the last election.

PETA, never had any credibility. It was just the Humane Society's attempt at trying to harrass anyone who doesn't follow their beliefs.

While you are at it let's throw those charletons of the Sierra Club on the fire too. They are engaged here in Florida in an effort to prohibit access to public lands by anyone other than bird watchers and only on a very passive basis. :smt013

I recently joined this group and I think everyone here should do the same. I'm the one playing the little drum.

Oh I'm all for eating animals! And normally I don't care what the guy next to me does. But there's no place for animal CRUELTY in civilized world. Every living thing has a right not to be tortured. Anyone who doesn't believe that shouldn't be walking the streets. My belief torturing animals is only a step away from disrespecting human life i.e victimizing your wife, daughter, brother. Anyway the point of my post was to point out how absurdly twisted the cause has become.

Only a 4 star rating?? Maybe if someone hit that girl that screams at the end, with a shovel, hard, we can make that 5th star....worth a shot

if that poor tree fell on them I'd give it five stars :smt038

Where are those dippies? I've got a chainsaw, a full 5 gallon can of gas/oil mix, a gallon of chain oil, a depleted backyard wood pile for the fireplace, a log splitter, and (goes without saying) a bad attitude. Let break some hearts! Yeee ha

I was waiting for a group of hunter to come by and mistake them for game and put them out of their misery.

Couldn't disagree more. The problem is that "cruelty" is subjective and government has to be bigger to enforce it. I certainly do not object to your treating your property in any way you like and am not really interested in your opinion about how I treat mine. Do you object to my swatting a fly? How about burning an ant mound? Shooting a woodpecker pecking holes in my house? Poisoning animals eating my garden? Bullfighting? Is it cruelty if I feed my kids before I feed my dog or horse? How about it just gets killed by the pound instead of being really thin? I think you can see where this goes. Animals do not have intrinsic rights. You can confer upon your own animals such rights as you wish and try and convince me to do the same through logic and persuasion...you can even buy my animals and give them a better life. But they do not have rights.

There have been cruel people since the beginning of time...I kinda like the advance notice when I see how they treat their livestock.

Good illustration though of the absurdity of this entire line of thought with the fly link.

What a bunch of total whack-jobs.

Mourning trees.

Jesus.

Where is a rabid Cougar when you need one?

Dude?! Miss the point much?

I don’t remember if they are the same morons that bought a HUGH lobster and call the TV stations to say they were going to release it back into the harbor, they videoed the release and it made the news, the only problem was they never took the bands off the claws.:smt043:smt043

Did you hear last week they (PETA) were protesting Pike's market and the celebrated fish toss they have there? They said it was degrading to fish. Seriously! I saw it on CNN or Fox.
