Pet preserver??

I'm shopping around for a PFD for the pooch - there are a lot out there so I'm looking for recommendations. $$ not an issue - I would rather get the best one. He's a big guy - 90 lbs, and obviously light weight is important - something he wouldn't overheat in. Any experience or ideas? :huh:

This has been discussed several times on this board, but I use Outward Hound life preserver for our Golden. It straps around him securely and it doesn't bother him at all. He is about 80 pounds. It works well to pull him out of the water...well as well as pulling 80 pounds of wet dog out of the water can be. It works better for getting him out of the water than that damn Paws Aboard ladder does. What a waste of money... :smt013 That's a whole other topic. I agree with brent on two parts. We bought the outward hound life jacket for our almost 100 lb chocolate lab. Very nice product. We also bought and returned the paws aboard boat ladder after trying to set it up on the boat and realized what a waste of money it was.[/img]

If you are going to put your retriever or other hunting-bred dog in a life vest, for the dogs sake, you gotta get him a camo one:

Wow, I didn't even see that guy next to the dog at first. I keep our dog in the orange vest so not to get shot by another hunter. :wink:

Not that you really need another two cents worth, but....
I have two 60 pound dogs and love the two handles on the Paws
Aboard PFDs...it makes pulling them back up on to the swim platform so much easier.
