I have reviewed some of the other threads with similar descriptions of the problem I am experiencing, and looking for advice from the group. My boat is a 2005 390 DA with 8.1 HO. At purchase, July 2014, sea trial results were 34 mph at WOT of 4,800 RPM, and 24 mph at 3,800. At beginning of this season, I noticed degraded performance with port tach reading 500-600 RPM less than Stbd. Props were removed and tuned at beginning of last season. Mechanic suggested running both engines to WOT and making a note of RPM readings which I did a few days ago. Port WOT read 3,700, Stbd 4,300. He believes port must have hit something, which I do not recall hitting anything. At purchase, both engines were tuned up. Something has clearly affected the performance of the boat and I don't know if it is the prop, or something else. The engines sound fine. Rather than waiting until end of season to pull the props, I plan to do now, but I am not sure if that will solve the problem based on other comments I have seen on similar threads. Looking for any and all input from the group......very frustrating.....never had this problem with my 2006 340 DA which had 8.1s. Thanks guys.
