Hey, all Illinois River boaters!!

Looking for a recommendation on the Peoria area marinas for about 2-3 weeks of transient dockage for a 40-footer.

Boats getting launched at SB Northpoint Friday!! Finally!!

Anyway, the plan was to spend two weeks in Winthrop Harbor shaking her down and then taking 4-5 days to bring her home down the Illinois and up the Mississippi around April 20th.

Well, the Ole' Miss is flooding with an extended crest until who knows when and who knows how high. Certainly beyond the 20th.

So, the current (no pun intended) options are to stay on Lk. Michigan until the flood passes, or head to Peoria on the 20th and then stay there until the flood passes. Would love to stay on Lk. Michigan, but Peoria is only a 90 minute drive, so it would be so much more convenient. Plus it would nearly cut the remaining trip in half.

Thanks in advance!

I've not stayed here, however Quimby's gives it a 4 anchor rating. http://www.cityofeastpeoria.com/index.cfm?pageID=29 The Miss really has a lot of water yet to come down from MN. Five years ago we went through the same thing...bought our boat at Wakeens, and spent the next 3 weeks in the Quad Cities before making the trip up stream. We went when the water was near flood stage in May...lots of floaters (logs) but we made it unscathed. Have fun bringing her closer to home!

Eastport is the nicest. Let me know if you stay in Grafton - that is where I keep my boat

I slip at National, but EP is your best option. all amenities, plus there's the Stoney Creek Inn and a couple of restaurants within walking distance. Plus, a gas station for minor provisioning
