I just noticed that the guest head door handle (a real cool looking euro-style handle) is now having the chrome plating peel off of it. It not only looks bad but could cut someones hand. This head is really not used that much and all of the other handles on the boat appear fine. Any one heard of this problem? I have not talked to my dealer about it yet, thought I'd throw it out here first. It's only on the inside of the head door/the outside part of the handle is fine. When you peel off the rest of the plating the metal looks like brass? Any suguestions?

You can get new ones from the dealer as well as flounder pounder marine. I have those handles but have not had problems with them. I did, however replace one on a stateroom closet because it locked from the outside. Sea Ray said "that was normal" and I just paid for it. Why in the world would you have a closet lock from the outside especially with kids on board?! Since your boat is not that old, they may just send you a new one.

Thanks Gary, I figured that Ken @ F.P. may have what I need - I just want to find out who the manufacturer is and let them know also- Maybe if I get a sympathetic Cust.Serv. Rep. he can send me a replacement. I know that the locks are made by Mobela, I just dont know about these handles, any-way, seems a bit "cheesy" for this to happen.

In west Michigan we have lots of plating companies that support the auto industry. Find one in your area and have it replated. Should be very cheap to do.
