Good Morning!
I’ve had some cracks on platform that are now peeling. I am not looking for an elaborate fix as I am always bumping into things. Can someone offer a cosmetic fix pls? Wide thick tape? Stickers of some sort? Decal?
Thx

A friend of mine put aqua trax on and while they were scanning his boat, they scanned the side of his platform. Put a sea ray logo on each side, looks awesome

If you want to cover it up, maybe do something like a vinyl hull stripe tape? I think there is a CSR sponsor that makes custom hull stripe tapes in various widths. You'd need to sand off some of those rough edges.

Honestly doing a gelcoat repair on that wouldn't be too hard. Sand / grind down the area, color match the gel, brush on, and wet sand smooth.

Another option is to add some rub rail to improve your stern protection. I just added a Tessilmare Bino 40 rub rail to my boat. It's available by the foot, is low-cost, and installed pretty easily. It's a 2 piece type, and has some cushion. The insert can be replaced if it gets crummy. Pic below.

Lastly, and I say this with all good-intent: maybe try not to hit things with your swim platform? Having owned a 270 AJ for 12 years I can say that the platform is pretty tough, but it's not made to absorb heavy hits into docks, etc. It does look like it's been hit pretty hard and that's not good for the boat's longevity.

Thx Barrington. These cracks were evident for 12 years now. I gues with freeze and thaw they are simply getting worse. Decide to go with rubberized flex tape for now.
