I have an old 1991 Searay 180 Bowrider. The gas gauge continually sticks on full. If I remove it and tap on the glass the needle will come unstuck but as soon as I power it I get a spike and the needle pins and stays there. Tapping on the glass when mounted (even un powered) doesn't seem to release the needle? So for all intensive purposes the gas guage is useless at this point. So ... any suggestions for a fix .... or is a replacement guage for this boat still findable?? I am in the west coast of Canada? Would my best bet be to contact Sea Ray directly?? What about used parts?? Any suggestion where to find one?

Thanks ....

Two suggestions:

1. Pull the part number off the parts manual from the Sea Ray web site and call Sea Ray customer service at 865.971.6250 to see if the part is available. If so, you will have to place the actual order with a dealer, but first you can find out from the company whether the part is available.

2. Try Flounder Pounder. http://www.fpmarine.com/ They sell a variety of Sea Ray parts.

Thanks Lawndoctor ... found the parts manual as you suggested and found part number. Will follow up with SeaRay.
