Form birds that is. In wife speak, if a Husband says DO NOT park your car near the sodium light in the marina lot, it roughly translates to Park directly underneath the light because it will be safer there.

You can see the light i speak of above the Hummer, in the background

Looke likt it was in a Hitchcock movie...

Amazingly it all came off pretty easily. I thought for sure with the car being black and as sunny as it was it was gogin t obe baked on. I think she learned her lesson

Ship Happens! The marina should put spikes on the lamp post so gulls or whatever do not perch there and cause this type of issue. Wonder what the ground looks like under the lamp post? Has to be pretty bad. And a health issue.

Hey John looks like you need to clean the truck. (Grin)
I would have thought you flyers would have figured a way to keep them birds away. Do you you all have many birds strikes at the base?

We have a few. An F-18 took a strike on top of the canopy on takeoff the day before yesterday. He just came back around and landed. I probably wouldn't have said anythiing if it just bounced off the top of the glass. Those Navy guys do things differently. He took off with 5 other hornets, and didn't even have 1 of them look him over before landing. I was on my final pattern, but I went around and offerred to take a look. He just landed.

In the AF, we either "Didn't see anything," or, we ge a chase ship, do a battle damage check, declare an emergency (so medical/fire crews are standing by - just in case), and land from a straight-in approach to minimize risk. A bent chunk of metal on a flight control surface can make a landing a lot more exciting.

I got nailed by a bird near the marina and it ate thru my wax coating and partially thru the clearcoat on my car before I could get it off. I polished the area as best I could but you can still see the etched clearcoat. Don't know what that bird ate but it was surely caustic!

Maybe he read the entire health care reform bill.

Looks like it's time to put the owl decoys on top of the cars when you leave....
