Pandora, Spotify, SiriusXM, Amazon Music, etc. which do you use and why?

One of the 550s that I have is the navman variant. I’ll make sure that it works and you can have it for shipping. Truth be told I’m reasonably certain the Navman variant was not smart craft enabled like the northstars.


I use my Simrad 12 inch screen primarily the northstar is just a back up. I don’t mind letting go of one of the spares for it

I do not have an extra set of cables for it, though. Hopefully you still have yours.

Navman and Northstar were both bought out by NAVICO. The parent company of Simrad.

I too am a SiriusXM fan. We have it in the Lincoln and it ties into Alexa in the house. I had the antenna installed on the boat, did’t like how they made me get a separate account for the boat. Negotiated with them and got 6 free months on the boat but if it wasn’t integrated into the Garmin I would probably not fuss with it and just use my phone. Queen likes Kenny Ches (auto correct won’t let me spell his name) No Shoes, His channel is ok but when he’s in concert travel mode he never shuts up. :rolleyes:. We have unlimited Amazon Music as well. When I just want to hear a specific artist I use that instead. Sirius works very well and when the month rolls around I tell them I’m turning it off and get either a couple of free months or back to $9.99 a month.

Oh I forgot, On Classic Rewind, I like Samantha Stone and Mark Goodman is a cool throw back from MTV.

I only use SiriusXM on the boat. When we bought our boat it came with a free 6 month trial and they said we could suspend it and restart the next season. In the interim Sirius and XM merged. When I called in April to restart our trial they told me they were no longer honoring those arrangements. The guy tried to get me to subscribe. Told him no way in hell I was spending my money with a company that does business that way and he hung up on me. The following week we went out on our boat and we had SiriusXM working. Never paid a dime. That was 2009, and we have had it ever since. Karma for sure. We listen to the Highway and Pop Rocks mostly. At least when my kids are streaming their playlists from their phones.

Mine are all boring boat/electrical/tools/truck and concert related. Apparently the attractive Russian singles don’t like me anymore after the incident
 
On the Yacht Rock channel I listened to Kenny Loggins Heart to Heart in the gym 2 hours ago, now I'm listening to it again, 3 hours later, and I'll probably hear it again before I go to bed.

That’s why I let it go. Andrew Wilkow and David Webb were the only thing worthwhile on Sirius. Just not worth three receivers a month.
 
Between the boat, car and truck, plus added internet access for the house and boat I pay ~60/month. I would never think of canceling. The inet is too sketchy to rely on it while traveling on the boat. Too many dead cell area's while traveling in the car to rely on streaming only. That said, I mostly stream on the boat and car. Always from the house.
 
Just heard heart to heart by Kenny Loggins for the fifth time in 24 hours. I think to myself oh I haven't heard that old song in a while, then I say wait an hour you'll hear it again

Thats why there are over 100 music channels ... Nothing is perfect. Even my best Pandora stations repeat after a while.
