anyone have any advice on what to paint my south bay strainers with.after last season they were completely covered in little white worms.
I always had some on he struts and rudders but not crazy.last year when I hauled the strainers were completely covered.I was amazed there was
water flowing.the struts and rudders had excessive too.

Petit Barnacle Barrier.. Comes in a spray can. It is expensive however, 30 bucks a can, but works pretty well.

Is the Rustoleum zinc Paint the same thing.
The Surveyor who did my boat said to use this in the underwater gear.
You can get it at Home Depot For like $6.00 a can

I can't tell you if they are the same. I can tell you using a zinc rich paint below the waterline, unless in contact with steel(not stainless) is a waste of money. Sorry to say your surveyor was full of cow poop. Since below water line steel on recreational boats is stainless in 99.9999% of the time, a zinc rich paint is doing nothing to protect the steel, or prevent barnacles and other growth.

Yes, using zinc rich coatings is common on steel hulls. But these are carbon steel, not stainless, and the chemistry is very different.
