My Formula did that when a coil went bad.

Coil, accelerator pump cup, flat cam, choke stuck, needles out of adjustment, vacuum advance...Check the basics

Being as you have a Quadajunk it's most likelly the carb. Had my fair share of problems when I had carbs. Never want to go back now that i have MPI.

MPI is fine but my 350 & 454 run perfect with the factory QuadraJet. It's an easy to work on carb and can get you back to port. MPI's don't limp well.....just sayin, Mike.

Coil is shot! They get weak when they get hot, Mike.

I agree; it sounds like the coil to me, that's pretty much spot on what happened when mine failed.

I replaced the ignition with MSD marine set up ,coil, distributor and ignition box, added a fuel pressure gauge. It runs great now ,thanks for the help.
