I'm getting a pretty loud noise from the stbd outdrive. It's louder than a ticking, but not as loud as a banging noise. I didn't perceive any vibration. I hear it about equally loud standing on the swim platfors as I do with the engine hatch open. I can hear it and feel it when I turn the prop by hand. The prop is fine, no dings or nicks.
We were cruising on plan at 24 kts. Everything seemed fine. I slowed down to check out an osprey nest. We were in plenty of water and I didn't hear or feel us hit anything underwater. The noise began immediately when I accelerated to get up on plan. I slowed immediately, shut down each motor in turn to isolate the source. Once we isolated it to the stbd motor, we cruised home on 1 engine.
Timing is pretty good because I'm sked to get hauled out next Monday for other maintenance and hull painting. I'm also sked for annual engine & outdrive maintanance.
