We just bought a 1997 240DA in pretty nice shape! I've recently sold my sailboat, as my back just isn't what it used to be, so this is a big change. I brought the boat over to the club late Friday after writing the check and signing acceptance. Took long enough to lighten my wallet at the fuel dock, and got her safely in my slip. The big problem now is I'm off to Hawaii tomorrow for business, then Napa upon my return, for business, and then off to London for vacation, so I probably won't get to use her until 9/29. :smt089 Here are a couple of pics of her tucked in safely in the new home. Her name will be "Grand Cru". IMG_4638.jpgIMG_4637.jpgIMG_4636.jpgIMG_4635.jpg

It's an awesome boat. We just bought our 1999 240 Sundancer last month and have really enjoyed it. Of course we don't have the same weather here in north Texas as you do in San Diego. I was born and raised there in SD, not sure how I ended up here. Hope you have a great time on it. Great pictures.

Thanks, we've enjoyed it so far. Funny, after reading the long 240DA thread, I was expecting this to be the most ill-handling boat ever made, but I've been quite happy with her. I've not had 8 people in her, and crossed oceans, however.

Sidebar-we live in the Dallas area for 8 years, amd moved back to SoCal in 2008. I can safely say the weather is better here!

1997........completely different animal than 06 and newer.

Is this why you decided to go on your own, instead of on the 240 thread? Doesn't matter, just wondered.

Congrats! Have a good time in London, say hello to her from me (I assumed it's the one in the UK).

Ed, that looks like Point Loma. And maybe the yacht club in the background. Wait - looking again, I'm not sure. Are you docked on Shelter Island? We're at the Marriott, but our favorite place to "camp" overnight or just hang out is La Playa. You might see us over there on the hook from time to time.

Great, Ed! I really like it over there. Fresh air, fresh water, scenic view of the hillside homes on Pt. Loma. And, tons of really big boats to drool over. We would really consider moving over, but we're very attached to the downtown area around the Marriott. So, we "camp" in your neighborhood and in Glorietta Bay whenever we can. If you see us on the hook, stop over for a drink and to say hi. Kevin
