Has anyone used agm batteries( specifically optima blue d-31m) with their inteli-power pd- 2050 battery charger?
Before i switch out my deka lead acid batteries i want to make sure my battery charger can handle the agm style batteries.

Optima Bluetop AGM batteries charge profiles are very close to LA batteries - so any charger will do...

But other AGM's does NOT always have the same charge profiles as LA batteries.

I would NOT put in the D31M's - I have them - and while they do give a good CCA/MCA - they are only 75 Ah each in 27kg. If you go with the new Group 31 XT battery from Lifeline - you get 125 Ah pr. battery - in 34kg - and much faster recharge profile than the Optimas 6-10 hours for 75Ah charge (pr. battery)

The moment my D31Ms crap out - I'm putting in Lifeline and to be honest I can't wait to go from 300 Ah to 500 Ah...

I emailed Sea Ray about this before I put the Optima's in my 280DA and they confirmed it would be ok. I never had an issue with the AGM's after I installed them.

I have the same PD2050 charger in my 40’MY. We use LA group 31’s, four of these in the 12 v bank. Has anyone changed this charger for a new generation charger witg bath temp sensors and the flexibility of AGM charging profiles etc?
If so what models plZ.
Thank You in advance.

They went to a 21 series years ago... I love the PDI charger/convertors they sell 50Kof these into Rvs every year, I have a 2140 on my 410,, if if it craps out a new 2140 is going back in.. lots of Searays with these out there around 15-20 years in service..
PDI would not pay to have CE certification so most Builders dropped them... its a great long lasting unit
