Hey guys. I know this is not going to appeal to a lot of you. I am toying with the idea of getting some work done on the appearance of the Pachanga. I love the offshore look, but cant afford the offshore boat. The Pachanga is about as close as I am going to get anytime soon. Here is a picture of the boat as it sits. Very few dings or scratches in the gel coat, will need a rubbing compound, polish job in the near future I think, especially to get the lines off the side after 25 years of living with decals. This is just my first idea with some photoshopping. Let me know what you honestly think please.

Here is the idea. Dont know if it will be a wrap, or what, but I think that would be the cheapest way to do it.

The interior is all grays and reds, the trailer will be done to match (thank goodness for being a DIYer :) ) I am still thinking about something on the nose, but need to get my wife to email the pictures off the other laptop. This is what I do with my downtime in Iraq lol, PS my boat :( Boy do I miss boating.

Jay,

FWIW, I would leave the graphics bone stock. A Pachanga is not just an old sportboat. They are true classics. They run fast, ride and handle very well, and look beautiful even by today's standards.

I would leave the graphics stock and enjoy owning a real head turner.... at a brief glance, and at great distance, I can always recognize a Pachanga. I would love to own one someday.

Jay, I agree with Keokie. Enjoy your time home with your boat and family and thanks for your service!!!!!!:smt038

I like the way it looks both ways. I'm usually on the "keep it original" side of the fence, but I really like your updated graphics.

If there is a wrap that can completely hide the old graphics, I would try it. After a few seasons or if you sell the boat, you can go back to original by removing the wrap.

Update: Yes, THANK YOU very much for your service. Shoot straight and be safe.

Vote ..keep original

They both look good....I lean toward original.

Your boat ...do what make YOU enjoy it the most
I am all about restoration on most things but why make something dead bone stock if you don't like it like that
Don't consider it a modification...consider it a modernization or update.
I am making my240 not quite so 1978.
And the dark windscreen is way cool IMO...have fun with your project

I think it's a beautiful boat either way. I like the graphics and they can always be removed down the road. Not sure how long they will last around the mid-cleat though.

The possible new graphics are nice but then your classic would look just like any other speedboat... keep it original and update it with the tinted windshield

I like both ways. I can tell you that a wrap in that darker color will be plenty hot on the top edge of the bow.

I like your new design, but don't alter the hull. If you get tired of it, you could always put stock graphics back on it.
Nice boat either way.

As the others have said, thank you for your service.

Thanks guys for all input. I think all the tinkering with the ideas of changing things up is the boredom and the longing for home :( No matter what though the windshield is getting done for sure :) There are a few spots on the hull that bother me and I want to have them fixed up. The chrome on the blower vents is not as nice as it could be, but I did find a nice anodized aluminum set that match the color of the boat ;) And an anodized gas cap as well. There are a few things I want to do with it, pop up cleats and the such. We will see what the Admiral says I can do lol. And thank you for your well wishes guys :) Always makes me feel good to know I have the backing of my fellow enthusiasts.

Thank you for your service, Be safe.

I really like the updated graphics- Looks like a new boat. Not sure that is what you are looking for but if you are, You nailed it.

I know it is my boat and I can do as I please, but I do take the opinions of those such as you fine fellows into account, so I will have to see how I feel when I get home. Thanks a lot guys!
