Opinions on Westerbeke gas gensets

I'd use those numbers for your boat. The equipment is so similar that you'll be within a few percent of the 280.

I'm going to go commercial for a few lines.
the 3kw Westerbeke during development at Westerbeke was able to carry the load of 2 17K BTU HVAC units.
Personally I've installed 3 with 16K BTU HVAC units and several more with 9 or 12 k BTU units.
I think people buy too much generator for their needs and end up running it at 40-50% load. It's better for the engine side of the gen to run nearer to 80% load.
