We are looking at installing a washer/dryer combo on ASD as we are preparing for our first trip to the inside passage in 2016. We are looking at Splendide.

So for those who have experience with these combos, vent or ventless?

Are there issues with vents such as installing an additional fan.

Where do you run the vent?

If you have a choice, go with the vent. Most people with ventless are not happy with the drying performance. We have a ventless in one of our upstairs bathrooms at home and the wife refuses to ever use it...takes way too long to dry and the load capacity is SMALLER with a ventless.

I tried a ventless in a small rental I had years ago. Like the others said, drying time is too long and the humidity it creates is terrible.

We put a ventless in a rental as well and got to deal with all the mould issues when the tenant moved out. It completely destroyed the laundry room from all the moisture collecting everywhere. When ya dry clothes that are wet, the moisture has to go somewhere. It might as well be sent outside to the atmosphere instead of being absorbed by all your upholstery and bright work.

NB; Really lookin' forward to a day by day coverage of your trip. That's one of our faves that we try to do once a year on the cruise ship. luv it.

Some friends have a Splendide 2100XC on a Trawler. They run the vent hose up to a port hole when they need to do the wash. Small loads but gets the job done.
