Man...I did a boneheaded move last night.

Was installing speakers in my boat and had a screw that was about 1/16 inch too long. Long story short....the tip went through the outside gel coat barely. Just enough to break through the side and crack the coating.

It is still above the waterline, but I would like to seal it with something. Anybody have any suggestions as to what to use??

Please don't lauch too hard!!

at least you didn't drill a hole clean thru...

got pics of where you put the speaker?

No kiddin'.......I would really be pissed at myself!!

After the "screw" up (no pun intended), I ended up putting the old set back. I didn't want to risk another hole.

Speakers have a mounting depth of a few inches, so you must have been using screws that are longer than the speakers are deep. What were you using, 4 inch screws?

You can get matching gelcoat from your Sea Ray dealer. He'll need your HIN to make sure you get the right color. Spectrum makes the stuff for SR. You could order it directly from Spectrum, but it's more likely that SR will have the right shade.

Best regards,
Frank
