Only one cleaning product aboard?

This is the main cleaner that I already do keep on the boat and use: Serious Shine from Shurhold. It's not a "heavy duty" cleaner, but then with regular cleanings I usually don't need anything heavy duty. It works on vinyl, fiberglass (cleans w/o removing wax - actually leaves the fiberglass shinier than before), glass, pretty much everything. http://shurhold.com/serious-shine-14-oz-aerosol

+1 on the serious shine. Stuff works great on just about anything.

Plain white vinegar is great but I don't like my boat smelling like pickles so this is my go-to cleaner for everything. You get the benefits of vinegar without the smell...

I haven't seen this product before but this makes an excellent point. If we knew what these "named" products we liked were based on or made from, how many would be made from vinegar? The restoration carpet cleaners we work with have said to only use vinegar for spot cleaning. That is the same thing they use except it is denatured to remove smell. So called spot carpet cleaners often set the stain so they cannot remove it,

News to me....respectfully I'm not sure this is true. Straight up blue Windex strip your wax because it has ammonia but the multi-purpose vinegar variety will not. Just so there is no mis-information, can you point to something that shows that Windex contains wax?

Assuming your boat is kept in reasonably good shape, white vinegar does:

Diluted to 50%:
-Cleans glass and clear vinyl and removes hard water spots
-Cleans all interior hard and soft surface and deodorizes (particularly the head)
-Spot cleans carpet and vinyl (but not as good as magic eraser but nothing is)
-Cleans chrome and stainless and removes water spots and salt residue
-Removes and kills mold and mildew stains and deodorizes
-Cleans and removes mildew and salt from lines, fenders, closed storage compartments etc


Diluted to 25%:
-Cleans gelcoat and canvas either as boat wash or wash down spray
-Refreshes potable water tank and removes all bad taste after annual sterilization

It's totally cool for the environment.

I like white vinegar

I use the Marine Spray Nine. Not sure if there's really a difference or just an upcharge for the word "marine".

Vinegar is an excellent cleaner but I haven't fou.d it to be too great on rust or grease. It works amazingly well on blood and black sneaker/shoe marks. Also it will rinse away spotless. No spots on Windows at all.

Yes vinegar is a cleaner Wayne. This is a tough one, but I'll stick with my original cleaner Simple Green. That and hot water does magic. I'm a very new admirer of Spray Nine in the last couple years though, so those are my top two, but the best all around is Simple Green.
