Is there a dealer or website that offers ordering of parts by Sea Ray part number online? It would be nice to be able to order parts without having to call and/or go to a dealer. My nearest dealer
is over 50 miles away. I downloaded the parts listing of my boat and would like to order some parts.

Thanks

The short answer is no, you can't easily reference part numbers and order them online. Sea Ray (and every other boat manufacturer) has relationships with its dealer network and they encourage owners to support the dealers by getting service and parts from your local dealer... which makes sense from a business standpoint.

With that said, if you have the part numbers you can Google them and find them from various vendors online or even from Amazon or eBay. Unfortunately there isn't a one-stop shop.

Have done this frequently with Wholesale Marine and eBay.

The answers in the previous post are correct.

The reason is that the Sea Ray part number is an internal number for Sea Ray's system and it isn't searchable nor is there a cross reference outside of the Sea Ray computer system. There are a few vendors who show them, but be very careful and check the application thoroughly because the Sea Ray part numbers are not published so there isn't a way to know if the vendor is correct or not. The possible exceptions are dealer's listings on eBay and Flounder Pounder Marine who buys a lot of odd lot and left over parts from Sea Ray. They are very close to Sea Ray and many of their listings have Sea Ray parts numbers.

I used to be in the same spot as the op until the dealer moved closer to me. Before that though their parts people were more than happy to work with me over the phone and ups anything I ordered to my house. The only time I had to actually go to the dealer's store was after boy who ran the pump out boat dropped the pump out cap in the drink.

I don't really have a problem calling a dealer and having something shipped to me, I guess I am just spoiled with the digital age of being able to do it myself. I'm surprised that there is not a dealer that has put their point of sale online for us to order from them without having to call. Most of my vehicles I can do it that way. Maybe auto dealerships have better manufacturer support for putting the product online with their part numbers. I was on a Honda dealer website just last week ordering a part for my wife's CR-V. Just seems easier to me. The dealer and the manufacturer still get the sale, I just do it myself.
It also enables me to do it at my leisure, adding and taking away from my shopping cart. When you have them on the phone, it is not as easy.

I agree with all of the above but selling boats is way different that cars because the volumes are so different. The main reason dealers don't put all of the parts online is because they want you to call them. Every inbound call is a potential sale -- whether it's selling you more parts or handing you to the sales team and upgrading you to a new boat.

Another difference between car dealers and boat dealers is that there are more car dealers to choose from for a particular brand. There might be one Sea Ray dealer in a 100 mile radius vs. 30 Chevy dealers in the same radius. For that reason, car dealers are incentivized to put their parts online so you don't go to the competition or buy it from eBay. Boat dealers however, want you to call or stop in because of the potential to up-sell.

Certain types of parts are easier to find online than others. There are hundreds of options for maintenance parts but replacements parts are much harder. Locating galley hardware or parts for the transom shower, for example, will be much harder. Not impossible but much harder. A lot of people on here have found the OEM's for various items and have been able to locate alternate sources other than the dealer.

If you are looking for a particular part you should start a new thread and you will likely find what you need.
