Well I made the mistake of getting into shallow water last weekend and really messed up my prop. The worst part is the splines on the drive shaft in the upper drive also were stripped. My Sea Ray 240 came with a OMC stringer low profile out drive. I have a OMC stringer high profile in my barn that is in good working order. I checked and was able to switch out the steering worm gear. I was able to swap out the entire out drive from the donor boat. My question is "What can I expect to happen when I put this in the water. Will it handle differently? Will it work?" I am going to drop it in the water and see what happens. It could be interesting.
