I remember the days when I had to actually do something to get hurt. Now I have Old Farts Disease which means random shit hurts for no reason.

Latest example - A week ago I woke up and my heel hurt so bad I could barely walk. Finally went to to the doctor and they told me I had Planter Fasciatis.

Any of you had it? If so, what did you do to cure?

Pressure on the tendon from below works for me. I freeze a can of peas, put that under the foot and roll the can back and forth with pressure. It will hurt but you have to stretch the tendon to ultimately make it better. Worst thing I can do is let it stayed curled up.

Freeze a water bottle, and then roll it under your foot. FEELS SO GOOD! The bitch about plantar fasciatis is it comes, it goes. Mine lasted a bit over a year.

Come to think of it, I also used a splint that keeps the foot from curling up at night. Still readily available on Amazon. That helped as well. As @Jaybeaux says, it can take a while for it to clear up.

Last winter I thought that’s what I had (wife’s diagnosis) for a while. It came and went. Then one day walking my dog something ”popped“ on that foot. Turns out I tore one of the tendons a week before my boat was being launched. No straining it or walking off a curb, it just tore and brought me to my knees for a few minutes.
I had surgery a week after launch and was out most of the summer on a scooter, crutches and a cast. The summer sucked for me.

I am hoping your PF diagnosis’ is spot on because you don’t want this surgery.

I truly understand this OFD really sucks.

I had it for a while, it sucked. Took turmeric with pepper extract for a few months and it went away. That was three years ago and it never came back.

I had issues. It was worst after driving for an hour or sleeping. When in those positions my feet would relax and when I got up it was extreme pain. I ended up getting inserts for my shoes from a podiatrist, after a couple weeks it went away, no issues in the last 8 years or so since…

I had it about 15 years ago. The podiatrist I went to had me get a boot to wear at night. It was cured in a little over a week. I now know the early feeling and will sleep with it for a couple of nights and that calms it back down. Kind of like this.

I used to have it a while back and it would come and go, but when it was there, it lasted a long time.

Then a student of mine noticed me limping and it turns out he was a podiatrist. He said that you need to do stretching exercises and not walk around barefoot.

Well, I can’t stand wearing shoes when I don’t have to so I stuck with the stretching exercises which I do three or four times a week. Probably haven’t had it in 10 years now.

I don't think that's an old mans disease! I had it in my 30's and it was awful. Inserts in my work shoes were the only thing that cured it. And for a time I wore those shoes just about any time I was not sleeping.

Rolling the foot on stuff while not working also helped, as mentioned above. Ohh and whiskey.

Hit me when I was 50 for one summer/fall. The pain was real and only in one foot. Did stretching exercises (leaning forward into a wall while keeping both feet flat on the floor, then slowly backing further away from the wall) and also got a brace that kept my toes to be pulled upwards toward my knee while sleeping. Felt relief within a week and totally cured within a few weeks. Still occasionally do the wall stretch especially this time of year when i can become more of a couch potato. Don't want to return to that pain and walking like a gimp!

Hope you get relief soon.

My wife used a similar boot. Take care of it really fast.
