Hi there everyone!
I am planning to put the boat in the water on tuesday, but when i did a testrun yesterday the oilpressure gauge was dead!
So now to my question,is there anyway to measure or to look to make sure that there is pressure?
Or does the meters just brake down after 10 years or more and if so does anybody know where to buy similar ones as to the standard look?

In addition to the analog sending unit that operates the dash gauge, there is a snap acting binary switch that activates the high pitched alarm you hear whenever you turn the ignition key. The noise goes away after the engine starts and the pressure builds opening the switch. Since you didn't mention the alarm sounding chances are your pressure is fine and the sending unit is faulty.

I dont have this alarm when i turn the ignition key, the only time i have a sound from this boat is when i turn the batteriswitch on,then it beeps for a second or so!

If the sending unit is cheap, just reaplace it. Check the connection first to make sure the wire hasn't fallen off. If the sending unit isn't cheap, just go buy a $10 mechanical oil pressure gauge and go that route.

Oil pressure sender is a bell shaped unit down low on the side of the 7.4. Disconnect the wire on the unit and connect an ohmmeter between the terminal and ground.

Here is the chart. Compare the resistance reading you get with the chart to figure out the oil pressure. Single means single station, dual means a boat with two stations.
