Oil pressure alarm

After cruising for 20 mon @ 3500 rpm starboard engine oil pressure dropped to zero and constant alarm sounded. Shut down engine and waited and ran it back to home and did it again. Could it just be oil pressure sender or something more serious. I've noticed the the oil pressure had been reading lower than other engine for a month. It was down a quart but still did it. Didn't do it at lower speeds.

I've seen this happen at 2 times and it both cases it turned out to be defective oil filters. The check valves stuck in the by-pass position. In both cases they Mercruiser brand filters. I only use K&N filters but Napa Gold is also good.

Probably oil pressure sensor or filter.

In my previous 30’ Sedan, I thought the same thing until rod went through the block!

Does anyone have a part number for oil pressure sender. I'm going to order 2 and replace on both engines. Thanks

Look it up yourself at mercruiser parts.com. Use you engine number
