Does anyone know the socket size of the banjo bolt at the bottom of the oil pan? 2006 mercruiser 5.7 v drive

Thanks

Bob

Yes the oil plug bolt. Banjo bolt is the name of the part

I wish it was a simple plug like the old days. It also has a very shallow head. It'll be hard to get a good bite on it

I really hope you don't have an oil leak there. Almost impossible to repair or replace if any rust is there

I did it! It wasn't easy. I had to replace the manifolds anyway so while I was in there I had to address the oil leak whie i had the extra room. It was a minor leak but it was annoying. So to answer my own question the screw head size is 13/16. The job took 3 hours. Most of time was attempting to get to banjo bolt threaded back into the pan. Filled it back up with oil and had no leak. Hopelly that remains the same when she gets hot. The rubber/metal washer had deteriated so I replaced them. I hope I never have to do that again
