Oil leaks since valve adjustment on cat 3116 engines

Hello hello...Was wondering if anyone had some insight on a problem I am having.

Before I had my valve adjustment done I had ZERO leaks what so ever on either engine. Since having the adjustment done my starboard engine is leaking from both the valve cover and I whatever the next seal 3-4 inches bellow it is. I called the mechanic and they said they did not change the gasket (which in my opinion is ridiculous seeing as they are pretty cheap).

So my questions are...Is this likely poor gaskets or do I likely have high oil pressure. (guage on the dash says 50 and mirrors the port engine). I recently cleaned my crankcase breather but it was pretty dirty again so I cleaned it again. Line had some oil in it as well. Last time filter was bad it popped dipstick out, this is not happening now.

Anything I should be looking at and checking or what should I do? Thx in advance.

If they didn't replace the cover gasket I'd be questioning what else they didn't do correctly? Check the torque on the valve cover bolts...if bringing them up to torque values (you don't want to go too much) then you'll need to change that gasket.

I'd find someone else to do my work.

No. Leaks after resetting overheads is not normal nor are they acceptable. The valve covers are cast not stamped so they aren't likely to twist. I think reusing and old oil soaked gasket is your problem. If you used a Caterpillar technician then call Cat and ask them to send the guy back with new gaskets .......and you shouldn't pay for any labor for the replacement. If you used an independent then you'll have to negotiate the replacement.

Could it have anything to do with high oil pressure or would it leak from everywhere and PPP the dipstick? I used a cat dealer. They said they will send him in a few weeks when they have time. Piss me off!!!!!

Not if 50 psi is what your engines run. Mine run 50-55 and neither leak a drop of anything.
