Hi there, I have a 2000 5.0L EFI serial number OL619655.
It currently has a mercury racing filter # 35-881126K01 on it from the last owner. I am sure thats not the OEM filter for this engine.
I have read some info that you should not use a racing type filter for everyday cruising applications, or like me changing the oil only 1 time per season.
This motor also has the relocation kit so the oil filter is up front and is inverted (upside down) on the mount.
So my question is what oil filter are you using for this engine or what is the proper oil filter number. Also I believe this filter requires the check valve.
Thanks guys/girls,
