Question ,, if my oil cooler had an internal leak would there be oil in the exhaust water behind boat?? just changed trans cooler ...and still an oil slick out the back.... any one have any other ideas, maybe carb is out of wack?? :smt013

How many coolers have you got on your engine? Is the power steering fluid going down at all? My PS oil cooler went but the leak was -very- slow and oil was dripping into the area at the back of the engine rather than into the water... When I replaced it you couldn't see any signs of a hole visually, or by the not-so-scientific-method of blowing into it and feeling for air...

Are you SURE it is oil? A slick can also be caused by mis-adjustred carbs, bad plugs/wires, bad fuel, etc.... Anything that is not completely burned in the combustion chamber will go out the exhaust. A gas slick looks the same as an oil slick....
