I will add to this- If you have Closed Cooling, you have two additional Thru-Hulls to worry about. If you have a Macerator, there is a third in addition to those already mentioned.

FWIW, Trailer Boats magazine recommends 6-10% tongue weights for larger tandem & tri-axle trailered boats.

10% is what stuck in my head good for these confirmations.... that's right about where i'm at....

Thxs Do you know the length from your transom to the eye hook?? My boat is still in water so it is making it difficult to measure.

Sorry for the delay here are some pics and measurements from under the boat and the trailer.....

17" from the outer edge(chine?) to the first bunk. 12.5" to the first strake.

19.5" from the end of first bunk to the keel bunk left

7.5" between keel bunks

This is just a shot of some of the obstacles, my gen thru-hull and keel thru-hull are in the shot as well as the strakes that run the length....

Someone also asked about the bow eye:
31" straight line from the tip of the boat(rubrail) to the bow eye.

Please remember that these are APPOROXIMATE- I did my best but please be careful with your build!

Do any of you that tow a 280DA know an approx. height from the ground to the top of the radar arch while on a trailer? I swear I saw it somewhere, but a search didn't turn it up.

Just thought I'd put an fyi out there... I made a trip to the truck scales(OFFICIAL) yesterday and the totals are:

Ram 3500= 7220 #
Tongue weight= 1240 #
Boat weight across the three tires= 11,860 #

That is with 1/4 tank gas, empty water, empty holding...

Also my boat is 12' 6" from ground to top of glowmex while on the trailer. I know this gets asked alot! :grin:

Thanks for the info. Does your anchor hit the bow stop roller when you are pulling on or off the trailer?
