I have the 2000 510 and am wondering what tank the generator pulls fuel from? I am thinking the port tank as that goes down quicker the the other two but wanting to make sure.

I spent the last evening with my "girlfriend" yesterday as I am getting ready for a 3 week business trip to Oahu. We are pretty excited to get her launched in just 80 days and the shine on her has never been better. Looking forward to the crystal clear lake Michigan water to shimmer off this hull.

Hello 510 Owners! I have been trying to find information on what size dinghy you put on the back? I had a Zodiac YachtLine 340DL that was 11' in length and it fit very well. I am currently looking at the new Yachtlines (360) and the shortest length is 11' 10". I know it does not seem like a lot but has anyone ever tried this size tender on the back? does it stick out too far on either side? Appreciate any input!

Sorry I am late to the party, I don't keep up on this as I should. I had a 2016 Zodiac Yachtline 340 that I had on the back of our 2000 510. I found it to be a bit heavy. Last year I decided to sell it and purchased a Highfield 360 Classic GT. I went with that over the sport model for weight reduction. The 510 rides better with 360 on the back. I do have to be more cautious when backing in with the additional LOA of the highfield. I do not have the factory lift, I have a sealift so mine is further off the back.

Just got my winter to do list caught up. It has been a very productive 4th quarter, I can sit back and relax a little bit now. LOL

• Fresh water manifold repair/replace. It stopped leaking ???
• New salon carpet. In progress

• Sea deck after platform is done Spring install

• Check fluid level in lift reservoir. Done
• Yacht Solutions electrical check up for Ground fault issue.
• Replace master head pump motor and bellows On order. Completed 12/28
• Install AIS700. Done
• Hot water heater replacement. Done
• Install larger accumulator tank .Done
• Repair Captains seat gas spring. In progress
• Remove and repair under stern cleats where cracked/chipped. In progress
• New floor tiles under stbd. rear seat. Remove old, clean, install new. Done
• Wet sand stbd. side below rub rail from stern to bow. In progress 1/15. Spraying gel 1/16
• Fill snap holes on port/stbd. side below windshield. In progress 1/15. Spraying Gel 1/16
• F-11 entire boat. In progress
• Cockpit carpet to cleaners. Decided to re-template cockpit and order new Aqua weave from Corinthian Marine. Templates arrived at Corinthian 1/15.
• Install new seal on port side dripless.
• Tighten rudder nuts and check packing.
• Check battery levels in January and May.
• Repair LED lighting behind helm switch panel. In progress
• Polish isinglass before launch.
• Tighten last bolt on windlass. Shane @ All Star Marine. To be done 1/18.
• Polish stainless rail around entire deck.
• Final wash and clean up before launch with DI water system.

I wonder what else I can find to do before launch day?? No doubt I will keep looking.

I have a “water maker” in the engine room on our 510 and I am wondering if anyone knows how it is used?
I am in fresh water in Michigan but was would like to see if it works in case I ever want to sell the boat or if it doesn’t work remove it for additional floor space.

The principals to operate are the same but each have different controls and sequences. All depends upon the brand. Some manual and some automatic.
Are you talking about making water or cleaning, or laying up? Three different operations.

Appreciate the response, I didn’t realize it had multiple operations as I will look into it a bit more when I get back to boat tomorrow and also see what brand it is.
In your opinion if I’m in fresh water would you leave it installed for future sales or remove it for additional space?

First, it can make drinking water from fresh water as well as salt water. Just try not to operate it in water with a lot of sediment floating around - you'd be changing the pleated supply filter often.
So if you plan remote trips for days on end then I'd keep it - It is sure nice not to have water use restrictions. Think long hot showers every morning.
A second part of the decision, were the membranes laid up (pickled) if it hasn't been used in some time? You probably don't know that answer so I'd clean it and test it's operation. Clean it and test the water output with a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter. The membranes are rather expensive so if they need to be replaced your decision is a bit easier. Pickling the membranes allow the system to sit unused for extended times so essentially there is no maintenance once pickled. BTW, never ever ever flow chlorinated water (treated tap water) through the membranes - there should be an activated charcoal filter in the system to strip the chemicals from tap water before the membranes.

Anyhow, it's an asset to the boat and if it were mine, I'd keep it. But, it requires some care and feeding - not a lot though.

Installed all new LED lights throughout cockpit, cabin, and nav lights so while changing the lights on the stern mast I added a garmin camera to see the stern area, have a couple in the bilge area and love them so figured I’d see how this comes out. I’m happy with the view.
