OFFICIAL - 450DA Owner's Thread****

Can't help with the model # Mark, however one of mine is significantly larger and more powerful than the other and had a consistent history of throwing the breaker on the salon panel.

It pushes way more water than the other one.

Good choice or not, I chose to bump that breaker by 5 amps (I think it was a 10 and I went to 15 - (don't quote me on that.....) problem now resolved.

I do have an accumulator on the system (along with a water pressure gauge) and now with the breaker change-out, the smaller pump simply never comes on.

That pumps pressure adjustment needs to be corrected.

Previous owner relocated the pumps from the engine room bulkhead to an area adjacent to the fwd engine room bilge. Pumps are now mounted so low that I am unable to access the pressure adjustments.

Future improvements do include re-piping and relocating these pumps to allow for better access.

My two pumps are located under the aft stateroom bed, with a well and bilge pump.

Did a search on this thread for REPLACE MICROWAVE and came up with nothing.

There is a trick, I just don't know it.

Lots of info on other models, zilch on the 450.

Anyone?

Bueller, Bueller.........

I replaced ours after a power surge 15 years ago. I'll look for my paperwork, but chances that same model is available today are slim at best....

THANKS - the current problem is the REMOVAL OF THIS YELLOW BEAST !

IMG_0926.JPG

Pulling on it in all directions - appears to be fastened from the bottom, and I can see what appears to be a screw in the left foot closest to the front.

Found only one screw from below - in the cabinet beneath the microwave:

there are no other fasteners accessible from below the unit.

Removed the door and every screw to the left side:

Removed the screws holding the middle shelf from the next cabinet over:

At this moment, there are zero visible screws to remove.

I can usually figure this stuff out, but am now at a stopping point.

PLEASE HELP ! ! !

When I do a little PRYING from the bottom, I can glimpse the side of one screw pointing up that goes into the base of the microwave.

Appears there is a panel above the one in the little cupboard below, however there are no more screws to be removed, except for the tambour door track.....

Might hit that tomorrow afternoon.

It's a puzzle.

YES !

With the exception of the screws for the Tambour door guides, every screw in that area has been removed.

I think the microwave is screwed to that shelf underneath of it with the molding on it and then the shelf slid in and screwed in from the bottom, that's how they usually do it. Have you removed that one screw that you found?

Thanks Mitch,

Your mention of it "sliding out" got me to thinking and looking.........

Found 2 more screws hidden by the rope light

Slid right out.

I continue to be amazed and pleased by the way this vessel is put together.

Yes they were.

I'm fascinated with the methods they used to engineer/design build all these pieces off the boat and how damned TIGHT everything actually fits together

Hello anybody,
i wonder how much torque too tighten my propellers to the shaft. I got a 1997 450 with 3126 CAT 420hP?

Before i took my props off, the big one was closest to the prop, then the litte one as a lock nut. My consern is tightening these too hard and break the treads in the nut.

Hello all - any tips or brands to use/stay away from when replacing the AC raw water pump?
