Official 400EC thread

Did basically the same thing. Removed mount from windshield, relocated it under rear center of arch. Had a canvas guy bend a 36" anchor pole light into a "L" to clear the garmin dome. Just plug it in when needed. Quick n painless.

Any ideas? My systems monitor forward bilge light is always on. As well as the forward bilge rocker. It's not on. It's does go on when turned on by the rocker or lifting the float. Bad rocker??? Short?? I'm lost.
any ideas

I have the same issue with my stern bilge. Except mine only comes on when I lift the float. Switch won't work on that one and it doesn't come on via the float.

1997 400 Express w 7.4 MPI, I am running 20 x 21LC and believe this is original issue.

Thanks so much...looking for spares....Jon

My 1995 has 20X20 with a heavy cup.

Best I can tell..the standard hp versions are 20X20 props and the High Output motors have the 20X21

The bigger changes are the diesel engine options.

Realized that I did not post a picture of the complete canvas job. Here is a picture that I have available of the whole boat taken during a run on our recent 10 day trip (I will post other clearer pictures later):

Harold,

Nice job with the canvas and the white anchor/running light mounted high is great!

Thanks Mark. I wanted to get the anchor/mast light off the windshield where it was mounted and get it onto the arch and out of the way. I used the light pole from the windshield and just made a mount for it.

Also see that I did not post picture of the finished cockpit upholstery work that I had done. So here are a few shots and one more of the rear canvas:

Based on the amount of time we spent hanging out on your boat during the Flotilla I'd say job well done!

Last but not least, the day before I was about to leave on a 10 day trip with the boat, the Norcold decided to call it quits. So, off the marine supply store I went. Due to the time pressure and other factors, I went with the new version of the Norcold. Did not have the time or ability to get to a shop that had the Vitfrigio. On the up side, the new Norcold slide straight in and I was able to use the same screw holes!

Had to take the door off, but it was smooth coming off and going back on. And the trip was great!!

Just ran across the engine specs in my owners manual. The prop size is as I indicated. 20 x 21 x 1.5 3BC

I currently have a Clarion M5170 that is giving me problems. Has anyone out there taken one of these out? Looking over the situation I can't quite figure out how to remove this old guy without getting into a major project, unless I am missing something. I need to replace it.

Have you opened the electric panel and looked up at the back of the stereo?

No, I have not. But after a little research I learned there are Clarion Car Stereo Radio Removal Keys. Kind of embarrassing but never had to remove a radio before.
