Can anyone tell me what zincs to buy for trim tabs and shafts? Thanks Cummins, so that may make a difference on shaft diameter

Tabs are R3 or R4. Shafts are 1.75 inch. I would use aluminum. From the factory, they did not come with shaft zincs. If your bonding system is in good shape, and you have 1ohm or less resistance between your shaft and bonding system, there is not need for shaft zincs. I only have the Divers Dream plate and tab zincs. According to my handy-dandy Fluke and my Silver-silver-chloride anode, I am perfect (-.9 volts or so)

Need to replace master a/c, was thinking dometic turbo or the marine air, anybody swapped one out? What u go with? Thanks

Are they the Vimar Idea switches?
Yes that’s what I was told to search for on the flounder pounder website, but then someone mentioned there may be a breaker on the panel that says satellite tv so I’m going to try that first

I have purchased the Vimar products from IMTRA and Apex Lighting. Apex is less expensive but their selection isn't as great as IMTRA.

got my boat home, what a nightmare. need to replace starboard battery bank, there are group 27's in there but i think i would like to run group 31's do i have to swap out the battery trays to do that upgrade?

Mine are all Group 31s. They were swapped out with no issues.

I def have a dead bank of batteries for starboard side, generator battery and port side don’t seem to be in the greatest shape either. As far as bow thruster is concerned, I can get it to turn on, solid green on the joystick, but it doesn’t work when I press to either side. I may be missing a step not sure

Load test the thruster battery. If good, you're looking at a rebuild. Brushes are likely bad. I had that issue with my rear thruster last year. Sent it to Florida Thruster over the winter. In my case it was the wrong thruster (not shielded) for my application so I bought a new one. All good now. This was the old one

Thanks, the thruster battery looks to be two 12 volt batteries wired in series, is that correct?

Weird that the button lights up but when I press the stick left or right nothing happens, especially that it worked a couple weeks ago on the sea trial

Check the fusible link. On my 420, it was in the engine room against the forward bulkhead. Mine was a 200 amp. In the old days, it was a $20 part. Cheap insurance to have on board.

I could hear the solenoid hit when I tried to use mine so I knew there was power from the switch to the thruster. There was voltage to the motor.

And mine worked during sea trial. Then the boat went directly into winter storage. It didn't work in the spring. I would try it occasionally during the summer and a couple of times it actually would run for maybe a second and stop.

Ok, I def don’t get any sound towards the bow when I try to use it, if th fuse is bad I’m surprised I would still get green light, u would think that would indicate a connection

Hello folks, I’m looking to purchase a 2005, 390 Sundancer with 8.1 Mirkes. I’m looking for opinions/comments from anyone who owns that boat. I’m not looking for the diesel versus gas debate. Just some information regarding the gas motor is in a boat that size. Thank you in advance and happy fourth.

I have the 8.1 HO engines with 425 hp. She’s not lacking in power at all.
There’s plenty of torque to climb the back of swells in the ocean without touching the throttle. It likes to cruise between 3600 and 3800 rpm doing 22 knots. Tabs are not needed to get on plane.

I'm plenty satisfied with mine. I'm not on big water here in Michigan so no large ocean waves to deal with. I typically run at 3300 rpm (using some tabs) when heading somewhere. No regrets.
