Official 380 Thread

Got the old generator out today, new one in and running like a champ. We were done by 330pm. Thanks to Pseudomind for tipping me off about pulling it from behind the stbd motor. I'll start a thread on that install if anyone is interested.

Stupid photobucket is down. Or I'd have had the thread up by now. I have photos and vids. Patience!

I definitely am interested in seeing and hearing how it was done.

Here's a vid. Not very descriptive but it's all I've got right now...

Question, please. Where are the trigger relay switches located for the 2 A/C units. Are they at the units, in themain panel, or near the water pump. Thanks in advance.

Call Sea Ray Cust. Serv.at 321-449-8628. They can usually answer your questions & are extremely helpful.

I have an 01 380. The trigger for the salon AC is behind the salon couch seat back, basically below the AC/DC electrical panel. Lift off the seat back and you should see a white box that says "Cruiseair"- the trigger is in that box. For the forward AC, the trigger box is located in the same compartment as the ac under the bed.

Thanks for the reply. Just FYI, the white Crusair box on my 01 is located in the seat portion of the couch. Thanks for the help.

Thinking about replacing salon fridge. Would you guys stay with the wood panels on the fridge doors or upgrade to stainless. Would you think with the size of that unit the stainless would throw off the look for the galley/salon? Thanks

Jim
Did yours die or you acting preemptively?
I'd probably replace mine another just to quiet the darn thing down. Norcold sounds like a freight train.

Ron, It still works but I think I'm on borrowed time. Noisy like you mentioned and starting to look shabby. Was at boat show and spoke to a vender out of LI that has replaced them flush mounted like the orig rather that build out the cabinet in front. Thinking about having it done soon.

Rick (mistercomputerman) replaced his on his 410 (same unit and same layout) with a vitrifigo. Maybe we'll hear from him on this one.

Had to take the fridge cabinet out to get the new fridge into the cabin. That is a PITA. Had to shim up the cabinet floor on the inside with some 1/2 Plywood, but, other than that, the unit bolted right it. It is a great fridge, quiet, keeps the ice cream frozen and the food at 40 degrees or less, has more room than the old Norcold, and has a light inside.

That was my only concern - taking the boat apart to get the old out and the new in. For that reason I'd consider having the thing repaired in place (if that's possible).

That's my concern as well ! I know at one point there was a kit available to rebuild them, but I believe they have been discontinued.

Replaced the Norcold on our 380 we only removed the cabin sliding door to get the new fridge in. It is very tight but can be done. Vitfrigo works great and looks much nicer
